Two 3 pointers in Kentucky/New Madrid area
One 3.0 last night about 9 and one 3.5 about 45 minutes ago.

Anybody feel it? I felt kind of dizzy and my dog started barking like a fiend around that time (the second one), but I don't know if it's related.

2. I'm over by KC so I didn't feel this one.
We had a 3.3 back in April on a local fault line. I did feel that one (I was about 3 miles from it at the time).

Do you think it's finally gearing up like promised back in the late 80's?

3. Gut feeling, yes
But when I don't know. About a month ago I made a quasi-prediction that there would be a large one(7+) within the next six months.

Let's see if my predictor works.

Interesting that the first 3.0 last night about 9 pm has been removed from all the lists. Why would they do that?

4. Was it unproven?
Was it actually something else instead of an earthquake?
I don't know.

Where are you actually at? I assume that you are pretty close to NM. Just wondered.

5. No, I think they just downgraded it
The first one is now listed as a 2.6, I think.

8. Have you studied geology?
Edited on Mon Jun-20-05 05:48 PM by Pithlet
There definitely seems to be an upswing in activity, which makes me wonder if the big one is coming. I've heard both; that this is relieving the stress and these small quakes are a good sign, and that this could indicate a big earthuake yet to come. I don't know, I know nothing beyond the average interested layperson about these things. Your prediction has me :scared:

9. No, no basic knowledge of geology
I have been observing the seismograms daily. They seem more active in the last few weeks.

Like I said, just a gut feeling that something is up. Don't worry about my prediction. It's probably baseless and groundless, but I had the feeling and I posted it to make it known if something happens.

12. if that thing ever blows again, it will wipe out everything on the
Mississippi from St Louis to Vicksburg. The big one in 1812 was HUGE, or excuse me HUGH!!!!!!!!1111

made the Mississippi River run backwards and formed Reelfoot Lake in the oxbow.
