I was sitting in a panel on Saturday on defeating Tom DeLay when one of the panelists made reference to Tom's comment where he said, "I am the federal government." The guy sitting next to me (cos from Cambridge, MA) turned to me and said, "If Tom DeLay is the federal government...can we get Grover Norquist to drown him in a bathtub?"
Best. One-liner. EVER.

Chris Bell, Richard Morrison and a women from DeLay's home town who runs a blog chronicling his misdeeds were the panelists. They were all too funny and the audience ate it up. Best part...C-SPAN was there.

I haven't really had a chance to sit down and process it all yet so I'm not quite to the place where I can do a full report. But it was wonderful. Saw lots of DUers. Made some new friends. Worked my butt off. :)

he was just sitting next to me in the audience.
He tried to send it up to the panel as a question from the audience but it didn't get read out loud. :(
