1. Are you sure it is the movie
and not the series?

I got the movie about a year ago and it was about 15 USD

4. And as much as I love MST3k
let's face it, the movie just wasn't very good.

By all accounts, they had a horrible time making it.

6. I loved it
but it wasn't as edgy as some of their tv stuff.

Last night I watched, "I was a Teenage Werewolf".

I swear, you have to watch the same movie 20 times in order to catch all the riffs :D

24. Well, to be fair, maybe I should see it again
it's been awhile. I've been known to later appreciate a couple of MST eps that didn't do much for me on the first viewing.

5. It's out of print.
Sorry. I had this shitty job in 1997 and had been planning to quit for some time. I was living in Toledo while my fiancee was living in Cleveland. The day I quit I telephoned her and said "guess what!"

"You quit!"

"Yeah, but I also bought Mystery Science Theater, the Movie at Revco for $14."

18. I believe the DVD has the unMSTied version of the film as well
which is a pretty cool special feature.

I've been hunting a copy on eBay for a while but haven't picked it up yet.

20. Got one of each.
My wife has bought every MST product ever released, except maybe for a few paper or T-shirt items.

Also, she bought the record cover from the Undead (Digger Smolten, All My Best)

Pearl Forrester's jacket

Tom Servo head from Werewolf (Where-O-werewolf, I've looked every where-wolf!)

I big cut-out Mike Nelson from I forget which episode.

A chunk of the Deep13 set.

From the MST feature film, This Island Earth, she has:

The clipboard photo of Mike with which Clayton Forrester smacks himself in the ass.

The switch to activate the Manos manipulator arm. The button is a spray painted nickle.

Mike's jumpsuit.

The Servo underwear head.

The interrocitor manual which we suspect is from the set of the original This Island Earth production. (It's paper.)

22. Wow! Awesome stuff!!!
I wish I woulda been more on board when they were auctioning everything.

Hey, there are still no copies floating around of the first 4 episodes are there? K00, K01, K02, K03?

I stopped collecting several years ago, so I'm outta the loop and am not sure if any of those lost episodes have managed to leak out of the vault yet.

19. Ah! I see.
Yup, the minute they make a DVD burner that costs less than a used SUV, I'm sooooooo there. My MSTs are beginning to get a big haggard from overuse.

25. Yeah, I've got the Sci-Fi channel episodes ...
... on home-recorded VHS. They are getting a bit degraded since the newest one is seven years old. There is an outfit somewhere that sells grey market copies, but I forgot it's name. I will ask my wife tonight. She will remember.

28. PLEASE Pm me!
I'd love to set up a trade for the sci-fi episodes. I have all the comedy central eps and even some KTMA stuff...and even if you don't want those, maybe I have some rare music or something else you'd like.

I gotta go to work now, but I'd love to set up a trade for those!

15. If you can get a real copy for $50 on eBay
BUY IT NOW!

Anything under $90 is almost certainly a bootleg. The movie is out of print and has been for some time. Real copies rarely go for less than $100, and if you're really shopping for a legitimate copy make 100% sure it's authentic before bidding. The seller should state explicitly that it's not a bootleg and should have impeccible feedback. A single negative feedback stating that the buyer got a bootleg should be enough to warn you away. Check the buyer's previous auctions and if s/he has sold copies of the MST3K movie before, it's almost certainly a bootleg as well.

If you just wanna watch the movie, there are lots of bootlegs out there, as well as VHS copies and laser discs.
