Bono goes to the dark side...and records with Pat Boone!
you know, i've defended u2 on nearly everything, but they've lost me on this one:

2. Music is music
Why the hell not? I think it's great, and I'm old enough to be part of the "Do You Love Elvis Or Do You Love Pat Boone" generation.

Bono sang on the second Sinatra "Duets" album. He's a musician, so he should perform with whomever he pleases.

3. He also recorded a song with Johnny Cash...
were you okay with that? Or do you have an issue with old, washed-up singers and Bono?

;) ;) ;) teasing

i love zooropa. it was u2 at their experimental 90s best.

9. I'm sorry, but did Bono do something to you?
Kidnap your sister? Pour syrup in your gas tank? What?

I can understand disliking Bono, but you seem to really HATE him.

15. other than having an unbearably pretentious stage name, the worst
wardrobe in history, overstaying his welcome in the music world by 15 years, and making horrible music? No, not that I can think of

10. He's still a singer??
I thought he was now adviser to Presidents, Kings...candidate for the presidency of the World Bank...Nobel Peace Prize candidate...VERY important person?

The problem I have with Bono doing all of that stuff is it's always tinged with the aura of self-importance. ALWAYS.

12. He has never been a SINGER
it's amazing the number of people who mistake his inability to hit the note for passion

8. Ever since Bono had those stupid glasses surgically fused to his face...
I've always had this feeling that he was a fake all along. They were a revolutionary band that could have changed things. Now they're just a bunch of rich guys thinking that they have their fingers on the pulse of society.

Perhaps they should put their fingers on the pulse of their integrity.

11. I dunno...
From Boy through War, I *adored* U2, but on VHI Classic recently I saw the video for "Gloria," and it hit me - even way back then, Bono was an imperious dickweed. I think he's been full of shit (and himself - not to split hairs) all along - I just couldn't see it when I was a kid.

18. Yeah....
But I probably would have fucked him. :P

Of course, I was a hot-to-trot 15 year old when WAR came out in 1980. Bono was wasn't full of shit back then to us, he was the shit! ;-)
