Man Wakes Up And Finds Bullet Lodged In His Tongue

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police say a Jacksonville man awoke Monday with a serious headache -- a bullet lodged in his tongue.

Police say 47-year-old Wendell Coleman walked 12 blocks to a hospital after waking up with a very bad headache. His lip was swollen, he appeared to have powder burns and he had trouble speaking.

Doctors found a bullet in Coleman's tongue.

Coleman told police that a woman stuck a gun barrel in his mouth during a dispute around 2:30 Monday morning. He told police that he heard the gun go off.

Police say Coleman then went home to sleep.

What authorities did with the bullet wasn't clear Monday night.

You know, you could almost guess this was Florida. I mean, really. You really couldn't imagine this in MA, say, or VT.

You should put up a poll. Relate this incident and give three choices: Florida, Colorado, Texas. I'd bet Texas and Florida would be neck-and-neck, with FL by a nose. . . or a tongue.

So he got shot in the tongue, then went home and went to bed? How did the bullet not go through his tongue? Why did he just go to bed? Why didn't he call the cops?

Maybe I should just back out of this thread before I have an aneurysm.
