Oprah Snubbed At Paris Boutique
i know, i know. its not Tom Cruise but....

<snip>

CHICAGO -- There are published reports that talk show queen Oprah Winfrey was denied entry into an exclusive Paris boutique.

A source told the New York Post's Page Six column that Winfrey was denied entry into Hermes in Paris. The source said, "when she tried the door, they refused her entry because they have been having trouble with North Africans."

On the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, where Winfrey's daytime talk show is based, several people offered their opinions to television station WMAQ.

"I'm not welcomed -- it feels like -- in the stores," said Meesha Pike. "I have to have my husband with me just ... if I'm going to shop for a Chanel bag or something. The women don't talk to me until I am ready to make the purchase."

"I think it is terribly discriminatory," said Pike's husband, Robert. "I don't know what kind of problems they've had, but to single out someone because of the way they look, Oprah Winfrey or not, I think it is kind of ridiculous."

"She's not well known in Paris," said Sia Gotsis. "She is well known in America."

One man who was strolling along Chicago's Oak Street said he has a friend who works at Hermes -- and said the Post has the story wrong.

"What I heard is they had a party at Hermes and she somehow was able to get in, but they told her she had to go out because this store was not open," said Goran Mikic.

Mikic added that once the workers at Hermes realized who Winfrey was, she was invited back inside.

WMAQ was unable to reach anyone at Hermes to confirm either account, nor was the station able to reach anyone with Winfrey's office.

4. This is as bad as..
...when they have signs on the door at the convenience store that reads "Only two students allowed at a time".
Oh well, I guess Oprah needs to shop for her $2,000 purses in America.

7. Wow, Oprah was denied entry into an exclusive store that 99.9999%
of the world would never be able to get into, either; let alone be able to afford anything in.

My God, the outrage!

Fuck Oprah. She can bitch about blacks being denied service in places they need to be in - grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. But not ultra super-expensive exclusive boutiques.

I've never liked Oprah, and I don't think I ever will, and her bellyaching over this nothing incident (about which she might be lying, anyway) just proves my point.

"Oooh, you don't know what it's like to have an extra $20,000 in your pocket that you really, really want to spend on a handbag, and then, boom, the ultra-exclusive rich boutique store won't let you, oh fucking boo hoo, boo hoo, boo hoo, oh I am so discriminated against, me and all my billions, we're so discriminated against. Oh, by the way, I really love poor people, and I'm on your side, really I am!! (cry cry, show the tears), Oh, yes (cry cry) I really am. I love you poor people, and I'm fighting for you."
