In the upper 70s. Perfect weather IMO.

9. Went to a Soltice party on Saturday
Good food, old friends, candles, bells, readings, drums, a flute, and fireworks (I always hide on the porch during the home-made fireworks, not that I don't trust the host/fireworks creator....) Mostly actors, artists, lesbians, and pagens. And eight cats.

Earlier that day, I attended a (non-Soltice) picnic on the Main Line with a lot of good food, old friends, streaked-blond hair-dos, and Lily Pulitzer skirts. Mostly money managers, engineers, homemakers, and Catholics.

Well, at least both groups ate all my Dewar's, cream cheese, horseradish and smoked salmon on a cucumber hors d'oevres!

Living in refrigerated, skin-drying "comfort."

Sorry. I desperately miss summers on the Pacific.

Summer on the East Coast is not very fun, eh? I've been on the EC for most of my life so I really wouldn't know any better.

15. Spend one week within ten miles of the Pacific at the 33rd parallel
and you will resent EC summers even more. :hi:

28. They're not that frequent, and the bad ones are even less frequent.
And you reminded me: The thunderstorms!! Yes, the t-storms we get out here are fabulous. I love them. They scare me a little since the La Plata tornado three years ago, but I still love 'em.

19. You forgot: bugs that have West Nile virus!
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 10:07 AM by Patiod
The State came in and put up some sort of mosquito trap on my friend's property (this was before she found a sick owl out back, as well as several dead birds). They told her they trapped mosquitos that have West Nile.

I'm tempted to wear a mosquito-net burka next time I visit there!

26. How much is Revolution anyway?
I've given my dog Frontline for the last few years, and it gets rid of the fleas but she gets this really weird dandruff for a fews days afterword.

30. It is expensive but WELL worth it, Mutley. I highly recommend it.
Most places will only sell 6 mos. at a time. At our vet, that was approximately ten dollars per dose.

It kills fleas, ticks, ear mites, keeps mosquitoes away, takes care of heartworm . . . it's fantastic.

32. That may actually be cheaper than Frontline
at my store a 6 month supply of Frontline is 79.99, which is $13 per dose... I will have to look into Revolution. Do any stores sell it? My vet will only sell K9 Advantix.

33. You might be able to get it on some of the pet meds web sites
1-800-petmeds.com? I don't know exactly where they are. A lot of vets will only sell it to you if they know your pet. My vet usually requires an exam of each pet first, but they know us and know how hard it is to get some of our cats in there, so they sold it to me w/out seeing each one first.

You can't get it at brick pet stores, that much I know.

I applied to Flagler College in St Augustine and was accepted, but when I went to visit the school in February (1997) and it was 85 degrees outside, I decided to stay further north.
