UK's ITV News: "Cruise to sue water squirters," wants to "take action"
...so, for the folks who said "kick the squirter's ass" or "let it go," he's apparently going to do neither.

http://www.itv.com/news/entertainment_1279882.html

Hollywood heart-throb Tom Cruise is reportedly insisting that the TV crew who squirted him with a water pistol must be prosecuted. Cruise was answering questions from journalists when a reporter stuck out a joke microphone and used it to squirt water into his face during a walkabout ahead of Sunday's Leicester Square premiere of War of the Worlds.

He angrily rounded on the man, saying: "Why would you do that...why would you do that...why would you do that? That's incredibly rude. I'm here giving you an interview and you do that...it's incredibly rude." He added forcibly: "You're a jerk ... you're a jerk."

Four men - said to have been working on Channel 4 comedy Balls of Steel - were arrested and later released on police bail. The men, aged 28, 32, 38 and 47, are due to return to a London police station on July 4.

A spokeswoman for Cruise said: "Tom wants to take action but we will decide in due course what that will be. He is not just going to forget about it."

1. Mission Impossible 2 was an assault on good taste.
I'm want to sue for my money back.

Note to self: Don't go near TC with a joy buzzer or a whoopie cushion. And for God's sake, no pie-throwing!

2. This is for real??
Oh, great. Someone squirted him with a water pistol. It's WATER.

This is one of the most humorless jerks in public life today. Was he seriously harmed in any way? Was his family?

Way to go with the nuisance lawsuits, Tom.

Maybe it's just me, but this is getting into the seriously asinine.

9. Seriously.
If this had happened to just some ordinary Joe Schmo on the street they had squirted (like some kind of "Candid Camera" or "Totally Hidden Video" prank) nobody would be arrested, or talking court dates, or being sued. Even if a complaint were made, the police would probably just laugh it off and tell the person to get a sense of humor.

But nooooo, we can't embarrass Tom the Great and Powerful. Heaven forbid that he should actually have a joke played on him.

What's really ridiculous is the entertainment "news" shows, who are doing stories called "Celebrities Under Attack" and "Should Changes Be Made To Protect Stars On the Red Carpet?"

Geez Louise.
