3. I finally figured out how to stop 99.9 percent of the spam.
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 01:07 PM by brainshrub
I used to get hundreds of Spams. Now I have a layered approach:

Level 1: My publicly viewable email is a Gmail account. Google's proprietary anti-spam protection and policies do a great job on cleaning out unwanted email.

Level 2: I have set my Gmail account to automatically forward email to my "real" secret email to the server that hosts my website. My server company's "spam-assassin" quickly slashes spam that Gmail missed.

Level 3: I use Thunderbird email software to download my messages from the server. Thunderbird spam-filter quickly squishes any spam that might have survived the first two levels.

In short, any penis-enlargement ads that I do see have to be pretty hardy SPAMS. I get about one spam every week or so... tops.

For the first time in years, email is fun again. :D

7. How much spam do you have in your bulk folder?
Currently, I have 5,141 pieces of spam. It empties itself periodically, but the number always hovers around 5-6,000. I leave it there just to amuse myself at the number.

Anybody else got this much spam? Am I the Queen of the Spam Heap?

8. Never let it get beyond 2000
Now that I'm up to a gig or so of space, it just means I let it go longer before dumping.

5. Lucky they didn't annihilate in a flash of bullshit
Who knows what that could have done to the space-time continuum.
