Queen Latifah & Loretta Lynn
I have "The Dana Owens Album" and "Van Lear Rose" on my desk. A co-worker saw them and laughed -- said "that's, uh, that's two quite different types of music you've got there."

Yep. :bounce:

What's in your collection that might make someone do a double-take?

6. I guess I'm not that eclectic; I've never heard of Slayer.
But Coltrane! Mmm... sublime.

15. I don't have any personal experience
but hey, coke might slow Slayer down enough to make it sound like Coltrane

5. Well...
it'll have to be Beck's "Sea Change" and Los Tucanes "greatest hits". Who are Los Tucanes-- a banda group that has a catchy rockin' n rollin' song.

9. I've walked out of CD stores carrying Slayer and Sinatra
Black Flag and Black Oak Arkansas.

The Grateful Dead and the Dead Kennedys.

Anita Baker and Allison Krauss.

I like it all. I've had one or two people comment on my diverse musical tastes, but I enjoy a wide spectrum of musical styles.

16. Except...
It's not. If Billy Strayhorn hated what Sarah Vaughan did to "Lush Life," he has to be whirring around in his grave at the way it sounds on Dana Owens. Oy!

19. All 'round, it's an excellent album.
I love listening to this woman sing.

Not all songwriters can dig what the singers do.
