Just couldn't take C band satellite TV service any longer |
|
Had a "baby dish" installed today. When I bought my 4Dtv set up, they told me that I was set for life!....... (Kinda like my old 386 computer that is)

2. Nope, I just got tired of my "big dish" dinosaur |

You know, 8' in diameter c-band dish. Years ago, all the programs were free. Obviously, times have changed. Now I have what us old c-banders called a "baby dish" (dishTV).

C band is how the satellite TV industry began... It was great for country folk because cable is seldom available away from dense housing. In the old days (early 80's) nothing was scrambled, so we could watch satellite feeds from all the networks & anyone else who used satellite transmissions. Today, the "baby dish" companys use C-band to capture the product from many different satellites then they package it & send it back up to their own single satellite to sell the programing to us in our homes. Since their is only 1 source satellite & because they use KU band, today's smaller, fixed dishes can be used.
