5. 3 vowels? Can you spare one? |
|
My whole name has 2 (9 letters total. My family left the old country searching for vowels, and was fortunate enough to find one.)

vowel, so I don't know how to answer that question. I guess that since the letter that precedes the Y is a vowel, the Y would then become a consonant.

Yes, it's been with me for a while - The second letter of my last name is a Y, and that's there the problem starts. Some pronounce it as a ih (as it should be), but others may pronounce it as eye, and if they do the latter, I sound like a very tasty alcoholic drink.
I'd think, considering my city's nickname is Edmonchuck, that someone could pronounce a relatively simple Ukrainian-sounding last name.
Believe me, I've seen worse!

22. I have to say "vowel" |
|
My name ends in a "y", but I think in this particular case, "y" is a vowel, since it's pronounced "eee" rather than "yuh", if that makes any sense. :silly:
