It's my favorite grocery store. Wish they had one out here.

35. There was a Cub Foods right near my house,
but they closed it a few years ago. I think all the Cub Foods were closed here in North Georgia. It was the only place I would shop. Luckily, a Target opened close by, so I do all my shopping there.

4. Used to shop exclusively at Giant
Now that Stop and Shop has been put in charge the store sucks. Not enough checkers so they expect you to use the self check. Shelves are poorly stocked.
We're splitting between shoppers food warehouse, Costco, and Whole foods now.

fairly decent place. Prices are actually pretty much in line with other larger stores in adjoining towns. They are friendly and helpful there.

The only place around here that DOES NOT have them is SFW (Shoppers Food Warehouse)... but unfortunately, the SFW that's closest to me is a really CRAPPY store.

11. Aldi
the best place to get most of what you need. Milk, flour, eggs, cheese, rice, pasta, bread, chips, paper products, canned goods... all of the basics.
Anything else, (wine, meat, stupid name brand shit), I get at Kroger.

43. My husband has relatives in Springfield, Ohio.
On my first visit there, his aunt said she was going to take us to breakfast at Meijer's. That morning I was asking his cousin if she would like to go with us, and she says, "Oh, you're going to Meijer's? I can't go, but could you pick me up some eggs?"

I remember thinking, "She wants me to buy eggs from the restaurant???"

I didn't realize that Meijer's is a store that has a small restaurant area. That store is HUUUUUGE. I think they sell everything!

Meijer is based there, in Grand Rapids. There are Meijer stores all over Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and now in Kentucky also.

And by the way, :hi:, I'm a Louisville transplant!

I shop at the Local Sparkle family owned store. We are soon to get
a Super Walmart in place of the Walmart we already have.
Its not bad enough but now there plan is for us to have no grocery
stores either. Evil Bastards!

33. Other - Bigg's and Jungle Jim's
in the Cincinnati metro area. Bigg's has great prices and no discount card.

Jungle Jim's for anything you could possibly want. One of the best produce departments in the country. The ethnic section is huge. The Asian department covers almost every country. Fresh fish (salt water and fresh) in tanks. You pick they kill and wrap for you. Also great wine selection from several dollars to thousands of dollars. If you can't find it at Jungle Jim's you probably can't get it in the US.

34. Target Superstore
Their prices are the best in my neighborhood. A Kroger is just down the road, but they are too expensive. And there is an Ingles practically around the corner, but they don't carry a lot of my favorite foods. And then there is a Publix a couple of miles away, but their prices are higher than Kroger.

38. Wild Oats & Harris Teeter
But I may be about to leave Wild Oats in the dust; there's a new outlet in town that delivers organic foods. Prices are comparable, and I don't have to go to the other side of town and deal with all the parking hassles.

Whole Foods will soon be moving into the Nashville market, BUT they're setting up shop about 500 yards from Wild Oats. It's bullshit, IMO, that they're going to go head to head in one location in the oh-so fashionable part of town when there are plenty of us elsewhere who want the goods without having to deal with Green Hills traffic.

Sendik's (small local chain), Koppa's (indie market two blocks from my place). Occasionally Outpost (local organic co-op).

In the next couple of years, we're getting a Whole Foods (which I probably won't visit very often) and a Trader Joe's (the rumors have finally been confirmed!), which I will visit frequently.

48. Kroger, Fiesta, Central Market.
Fiesta is a local chain with large selections of "ethnic" foods--depending on the neighborhood. There's a small one near my house.

Central Market is owned by HEB. A huge selection that leaves Whole Foods in the shade. Too expensive for all my needs--but fine for stuff not found elsewhere.

Costco is an option, but my freezer is on the fritz & I can't use large quantities right now.
