I just listened to ESPN and they said that this is the first 7th game since 1994. This is a product of them changing the format from 2-2-1-1-1- to 2-3-2. It is almost impossible to win all 3 games at home. Thoughts

Especially when they have 3 days between the games in Detroit and only two days between a game where the teams have to travel from one city to another.
Still the last two games of this series have been excellent. Even though the national media doesn't know what to do with two great TEAMS with no individual superstar personalities that they can suck off and hype for two weeks.

3. These teams actually play basketball |
|
For years I have stayed away from the NBA. I started watching in '64 and saw all the games from then on. I saw the Havlicek steal live. Even though I loved Dr.J and roomed with a class mate of his in 1970( I used to tell him that no way is this Julius Erving guy would ever be a pro) I think his legacy is one on one basketball. It is the Alan Iverson's and Kobe Bryant's that bore me to death. My attitude has always been if you let me dribble for 20 seconds I'll eventually get open too. Detroit and San Antonio are good solid teams. Manu cost them the game last night by going one on one. First he walked and the ref's missed the call and then he threw it away. Detroit has the better guards.

4. I like watching teams who play both ways |
|
I remember going to a regular season Pistons game during the Don Chaney/Grant Hill era, and it seemed like nobody on either team played any defense until there was about five minutes left in the fourth quarter. There was no effort whatsoever. If the tickets weren't free, I would have felt like I'd been ripped off. I suppose defense is underappreciated in any sport, unless you have a flashy playmaker or personality on D like a Deion Sanders, Ray Lewis, or Rodman.

5. And Sheed cost the Pistons the previous game |
|
by doubling down on Manu when he should have been guarding Horry on the last play. Always harder to knock down a game-winning three with a 6-11 hand in your face.

6. Horry was so unbelievably hot, he might have just sunk it regardless |
|
Still Sheed might have prevented the shot from happening altogether.
