CHECK YOUR BANKS FOLKS - My VISA Debit Card Was Compromised

Mrs just called. thank GOODNESS she works for our bank. anyhoo, my VISA debit card was caught up in that scam outta Phoenix the other day (400+ of the banks cards were compromised, and this is a TINY private bank).

Anyway, they didn't get my name, just my account # and expiration so they aren't TOO worried about it but they have to reissue new #'s, flag the accounts, etc... :grr:

Check with your banks folks. These fuckers are ensuring that NONE of our lives are private OR safe.

1. Haven't there been a lot of those so-called "hackers" really

stuck on information and identity databases.

I think it's kind of interesting that all these information brokers have been hacked into lately; however, no one has said anything else about who did it, if they have a suspect, etc.

Now our government wouldn't do that to us, would they????

It's too small, - but sadly it's accurate. It looks like my credit union is fine.

and we've had 266 customers cards compromised since yesterday. :scared:

11. someone hacked into a database in Phoenix

and stole millions(?) of CC #'s and info from all over the country.

12. The Card processing company is in Phoenix but...

it could have been hacked from anywhere in the world; Israel, Russia, China, binLaden, the GOP, terrorists. Please, don't make it sound as if Phoenix is to blame.

If the banks can be hacked, I'm sure, so is the Stock Market. There's lot more money there. Terrorists don't have to bomb the US in our own soil, they can easily do it from any where in the world. What better and devastating blow to the US; wreck the economy, put money fear in people, steal their identities and money. I thought little georgie was guarding us well.

15. Keep reviewing your statements tho' -

since so many were stolen, our bank told us to review our statements more often to check for unusual activity. Our bank also said that SO FAR, ours has not been compromised, if they got the number and exp. date, they don't have to use it right away.
