My favourite thing in the world...
is taking my daughter to St. Lawrence Market here in Toronto and sitting on a bench sharing a peameal bacon sandwich. It may be one of those cheesy and sentimental father-daughter moments, but I'm the sort that is brought to tears by "It's a Wonderful Life". (Plus those sandwiches are really effin' good.)

What's your favourite thing in the world?

2. Enjoy these precious moments. She's a doll! And a lucky little
girl to have such a doting father.

BTW - just WHAT is a peameal bacon sandwich?

:hi:

6. Peameal bacon = Canadian bacon.
When she gets older the doting will turn into psychotic overprotectiveness. 7:30 PM curfew, that sort of thing.

I think she's a doll, but I'm biased. :-)

9. Nah - you're not biased. She IS a cutie!
My very own little girl is now 28. As I said, enjoy - the time goes by too quickly. I miss those cuddly days!

10. Thanks!
I was actually telling her when I took those pictures that I hoped we'd still be hanging out on that bench eating the sandwiches in 20 years, but I just wanted to preserve what it looks like now. Obviously she didn't know what the hell I was talking about, but hey that's part of the magic of such moments.

13. You know what?? In 20 years you WILL be sitting on that bench
eating those sandwiches. My daughter and I are extremely close.
Going to the California wine country on Sunday to hang out together.

14. Thanks, that's a very comforting thought.
Although I hope I'll no longer be telling her not to run around in circles in such a busy place.

3. Oh my goodness, where did you get her? I want one!
That has to be one of the most adorable children I have ever seen. I don't know who's luckier, you for having such a cute kid, or her for having such a great dad.

We kept the receipt just in case she turns out to be a delinquent.

12. She is absolutely adorable!
I gotta get me one of those some day. Although I dont think my vegetarian husband will go for the ham sandwich.. It'll have to be lentil or something sinister like that.

My favorite thing in the world is spending a lazy Saturday in bed, while rain falls outside and the smell of fall and pine trees wafts in on cool clean air, then going to Apple Hill at sunset and drinking a cup of hot apple cider while we snuggle wrapped in a blanket and make plans for the future.
