It's kind of an homage to the guy that Macauly Culkin plays in Party Monster.

14. Except there's a problem...
From the links provided, McCulkin seems to be playing a gayaddict who's old enough to go clubbing, not a 10 year old boy in a bikini bottom.

The ad is too weird and screams pedophilia, IMHO. Maybe I have a gutter mind, but I agree, it's not right.

20. IT is a problem and thank you for saying so.
10 year old boys (and girls) dressed like that in advertisements IS wrong. Showing this is not right.

ad sound sexually oriented to me. But, like I said, maybe it's my mind, not the author's.

23. I agree with you -
I had heard of the Michael Alig / Club Kids of NY murders, but I don't see ANY connection between this ad and those murders!

That ad IS disturbing. In fact, all of us here may have committed a crime merely by looking at it! :scared:

24. Skrod-la-da was a Michael Alig term
Disco 2000 was his promotion group (the group in the ad calls themselves Disco 3000). And the name of the event at least is very similar to one of Alig's club kids parties.

18. I didn't think it was supposed to be funny murder never is
death or near death can be if you really have a dark sense of humor and especially if you are involved in the event or face such things daily. As to decadence today its rather funny because as youth never seem to realize they haven't invented a thing.

2. What the hell is that?
On first glance, it looks exploitative and disturbing. However, the "stat(utory?) rape rap" makes it clear that this site is celebrating child rape.

Is it a joke? Or should the LAPD be concerned about the LA athletic club's events?

8. Another link
http://www.papermag.com/magazine/mag_00/mag_nov00/disco3000/

But first, getting distance from the labels and disgraces of the mid-90's was crucial. Astro, who was with Disco 2000 until the "bitter end," estimates that the height of the club kids lasted from 1991 to '93, then it "became very druggy," and by '96 "it was gone." That was the year Michael Alig and Robert "Freeze" Riggs assaulted drug dealer Angel Melendez with a hammer, strangled him, smothered him with a pillow, injected him with Drano and threw his dismembered body into the Hudson River. They went to prison. St. James wrote a book about it, called Disco Bloodbath.
