Who knew forwarding cell phone calls to land lines was MORE expensive?! |
|
For the past few weeks, I've forwarded all my peak time calls to land lines. Little did I know that I was being billed for the entire call (if I talked for an hour on the landline, that is what my cell phone company charged). Not only that, but if I knew that was what was going on, I could have at least took advantage of the free mobile to mobile minutes! What a ripoff!

How does the cell phone company monitor the amount of time you spend on a land line? Which company is it?

You always pay for the phone charge for making the forwarded call. When I have my landline forwarded to my cell when I travel, I have to pay the long distance charge for the call from my land line to the cell phone PLUS I use up the minutes on the cell phone (oddly enough, my cell phone is a different area code from my land line, so it's long distance).
"Forwarded" doesn't mean "rerouted" - a forwarded call still acts like a call made from the phone doing the forwarding.
