Best Director that never won an Oscar
I would say:

1) Stanley Kubrick

2) Martin Scorsese

But Marty's still alive, so he still has a shot.

7. Well, Bruce Beresford is still with us, but it's a damned crying shame tha
that he didn't even get nominated for "Driving Miss Daisy."

Then there's Barbra Streisand and "The Prince of Tides." :grr:

13. Scorsese, Kubrick or Hitch
Interchangeable order for me, depends on the mood.

I'm pretty sure Scorsese has been nominated the most out of the three and was robbed this past year and for Raging Bull.

Hitchcock's achievements and contributions to filmmaking mean more than any award could.

18. You assume that the Oscars are about talent and achievement
Look who won against Scorsese. In 1980, against "Raging Bull," Robert Redford for friggen "Ordinary People!" Then, against "Goodfellas," Kevin Costner for "Dances with Wolves!"

19. they're not as bad as the grammys
which screw it up every year (worst in my lifetime being steely dan over radiohead and eminem. i'm know eminem fan, but even i know that the two artists had better stuff than steely dan's worst album)-the oscars occasionally get it right
