Nothing like the sound of the cat blowing chow off the cat tree!

The cat tree is right next to my desk- I just gave Flea taxi his dinner and he must have eaten a little too fast. He was on the top platform of the cat tree and with great talent and skill he managed to get it all on the hardwood floor. Better than the keyboard!

(note to self- move the cat tree)

1. And we have
splashdown!

I find the odd piles around the house, never on the hardwood but always on the rugs.

3. Cats have a wonderful skill of only throwing up and counghing up hairballs
on carpets. 99% of your house may be bare floors but cats will seek out that 1% that is carpeted and throw up on it.

2. Nope the worst is...
The middle of the night sound of a cat harking up a hairball. You know that you will find it in the morning with your barefeet.

17. You might step in it sooner than the next morning.
And I can't decide whether it's grosser to step in a cold hairball or a warm one.

31. Either way it is nasty.
And you have that dread, of hearing them do it and knowing that by the time you got up and turned on the light, they will be done and you will not find them. One of ours goes and hides after she does that.

21. Meow Meow
When I first got my cat I would ask her what her name is and she would say to me "Mao" So I called her Mao for a long time but it turned into Meow because her meow changed. Then I called her Meow Meow. I could ask her if she wanted some milk and I swear to you she would say milk. She was the most constant thing in my life for 14 years and traveled all over the country with me. She got sick and I put her to ease last year. Oh, Meow Meow.

18. Just a damned minute here. You can let a dog out in your back yard...
without it flying over a fence and having puppies, err, kittens in someone's house. Not so with cats!

20. That's true. Dogs hardly ever have kittens, even in their own houses.
They do, however, crap in other people's yards.

19. Recently our friend Paul was over
and the cat Penelope was across the room and all of us could hear her starting to hack up a hairball. I got up to put the cat out of sight of our guest and Paul interrupted with "no, let her throw up. I want to watch." I looked at him then at Penelope as she spit out a good one. Everyone cheered and the cat ran away and I got to clean up a hot wet hairball.

24. They do love to perform
We had two couples visiting us from out of town, all cat lovers. We were sitting in the rec room after coming home from a nice dinner. Suddenly my wife and I noticed that our mighty hunter was under one of the chairs with a dead vole (he's captured hundreds). Exchanging glances and gestures, we determined that I would slip into the utility room and get a paper towel. Before I could return with the towel, our boy walked into the center of the room, and proudly flung his prey a couple feet into the air for all to see.
As I said, all were cat people, so they could identify with it.

30. True story - don't read if you're eating or squeamish:
My friend was hosting her oldest daughter's first sleepover party - 10 seven-year-old girls, plus two toddlers.

I won't go into the absolutely horrifying details, but the damned cat brought a badly injured bunny into the party and let it go. It ran screaming away, and got stuck behind my friend's refrigerator, where it kept kicking and screaming.

She then had 12 completely terrorized, shrieking little girls on her hands, in addition to the injured rabbit.

Not a great evening....

26. ROTFLMAO.
Wow. Stephen King would envy that description you just gave. I can just see it in my mind. I love cats, but they can be the most ungraceful creatures if they are either hurling chunks or missing something they just jumped for way up high. And nope, they don't always land on their feet.

Note to self: If I hear a cat making the wretching sounds and he is sitting at a higher altitude than my head, MOVE outta the way.

34. One day I woke up
and put on my shoes, only to discover a kitty had peed in them. Then I proceeded to have an overall rotten day. Finally, I crawled into bed, only to hear one of my cats puking up all over my desk.

Still, I wouldn't trade the little fuzzy felines for anything!
