14. Ginger is much, much better . . .

and, thanks to the antibiotics, he's enthusiastically spending his afternoons flirting with my husband's 94-year-old grandmother, who's here for her summer visit. Ginger is extremely attracted to grandmother's beige support hose, so we've had to "explain to him" that support hose are _not_ for sharpening his fingernails while he stretches himself vertically. :eyes:

20. Oh, well. You're gonna think this is nutty, but . . .

we just have a talk with Ginger about stuff. He's four years old, and not _once_ has he "disagreed." And really, that's all it is, just a talk, like, "Nonna Anna is here, and we have to be careful about her stockings, cuz her skin is really fragile." She arrived yesterday, and so far, Ginger's only rubbed up against her stockings and climbed on her lap (claws retracted). I might add, though, that we're judicious about picking which "issues" are important. For instance, we've never talked with Ginger about bringing dead animals into the house because it's our house and I do the cleaning, and bringing home his prey is something that makes him really proud. Also, it would be pointless to discuss with a cat the fact that we're a Buddhist family with high regard for all sentient beings, including mice, songbirds, moles, crickets, etc.

Go ahead, say I'm nuts.
