Poll question: Do you lose it if your food is touching?
If your corn touches your mashed potatoes, does it drive you nuts? I ask this because my Aspie kid goes bonkers if this happens. I don't like it, and will remove the offender, but he won't eat the potatoes if the corn has touched them.

(foster) who would just go ballistic if his food touched. We made mealtimes a LOT easier by purchasing divided plates and serving his dinners that way. He was a lot happier and ate everything most nights. He had some major emotional issues and we didn't want to escalate something that could be fixed so easily.

this type works well.

9. I like soup..
I also like things like indian food and stirfrys all jumbled together. I like casseroles, pot roasts.. spaghetti, however if there is a side like broccoli or beans with the spaghetti, it can only touch the dry noodles that ring the edge of the spaghetti with the sauce on top.

Okay, Im sounding way too obsessive compulsive right now!

7. I had a friend in college
who had to have the right combination of wet/dry foods on his plate. Potatoes are dry, so you need to put gravy on them. A sandwich without mayo or mustard, etc was too dry for him.

Drove me nuts. I hated eating with him.

8. I dont like anything on my sandwiches generally.
If I eat a burger, it must be meat, bread and onions only.

Turkey can have mayo on it if it doesnt have cheese.. but everything else.. no.

Except avocado sandwiches.. they must have mayo and cheese.

Meat, cheese, bun. Nothing else. I don't care if I went through the drive thru, I'll bring it back in and make you get it right!

10. I only hate it when one of the items is sweet
Like Cranberries on a thanksgiving plate. If everything's savory, let it mix. Mmmmm..

14. Most kids go through this phase. Makes evolutionary sense.
Usually it is around the time when they are exploring the world, and they need to be able to taste each bit of food separately so they don't poison themselves. Evolutionarily that is. Most of us grow out of it.

15. Have and have not
I began doing this for a while when there was more than one item but quit that when I remembered what it was like having only one thing and little of that! I realized that when hungry, mashed potatoes with ice cream on top would be luxury.
