Ok, I found a solution to clarifying my posts, think whiny not yelley. |
|
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 02:31 AM by Melodybe
When reading my posts imagine more upwards inflection and think of it more as whiney than yelling.
With no inflection there is no distinction between how the words I am using are ment to be taken, and because if this I am pissing folks off and hurting their feelings.
Although my voice is kid of low and raspy, my inflection is almost always upwards. So instead of assuming that I am barking down your throat, imagine more of a whine and the interpretation will probably be closer to how I am meaning to say it.
Again whining is annoying, I'm working on that too.

changing your avatar from Che to Woody Allen would help?? ;)
Yikes, then we'd have to dodge another Woody Allen flame war. :nuke: Forget I said that!

I thought I changed it to Conyers the other day.
Che making people think I'm all hostle :( I love Che, he is my favorite revolutionary besides Jefferson and Franklin, but yeah I gues the bright red avatar of a man that is considered by many, but not me, to be a blood thirsty killer, might be making me look angerier than I am.
When I picked Che as my avatar, it was because of him teaching EVERY bodyguard he ever had to read. He purposely picked illiterate guards, that he taught to read. Once they could read, he replaced then with more illiterates. Like Che, I agree with the egalitarian side of Marxism. He is my hero because he wanted everyone to be on the same level, I dig that.
But if you didn't know that that was my reasoning for picking Che, then I understand the confusion. I picked Che because of what he believed not because of his anger.
I love Che, I hate to see him go, but I want to show my support for a living Conyers and his actions.

So long Che, I still love ya, though.

that you're busy finding important things to post about, and don't have as much time for the minutiae.
You do make good and useful posts. :pals:

Thanks, I love your twirling yin-yang, I have a philosophical |
|
and religious ideas about the significance of the physical appearence of yin-yangs, DNA, infinity. It's long and drawn out and probably makes no sense to anyone who is not me but for some reason I think that in the giant scheme of things those three images are very important and very connected.
Either way it makes me smile when I see it.

it was a gift to me from a DU friend - Dem2TheMax. She found it and put it in her photobucket account for me.
The yin-yang is meant to represent the swirling growth and diminution of all aspects of life, so even though I'm not wild about the sort of disconnected-ness of the parts in the swirling gif, they do still demonstrate the idea effectively. Life as paired opposites in fluid motion.

Sounds like you put alot of thought into your avatar..moreso than my palm tree, thats for sure. ;)
In any case, don't stress too much about "sounding hostle"--you can always clarify things and work them out. :)
