More on Allergy Free Cats
The July 15, 2001, issue of Sinus News contained a small news blurb about a team trying to create the world's first "allergy-free cat." Those allergic to cats would be able to buy an "allergy free" cat without worries of sneezes and sniffles.

The company attempting to create the "first allergen-free felines" is called Transgenic Pets, LLC, and is based in Syracuse, New York. The company was founded by Dr. David Avner (who serves as president) and his wife.

"Millions of cat-allergic people who now suffer with itchy eyes and runny noses, and millions of others who live without the love and companionship of a pet because of allergies, will soon be able to keep a pet of their own," says Dr. Avner.

According to Dr. Avner, his company is employing techniques that are already established in the scientific community and using the techniques for this new purpose, which is "to turn off the allergen gene in cats."

these kitties "allergy free". Man still has not learned to stop fooling around with Mother Nature.

EDIT: If you are allergic to cats, it is the Universe telling you NOT to have cats.

3. Orange Tabby
We have an Orange tabby that I have NO allergic reaction to! And I am one of those highly allergic types. Must be a naturally occuring gene in some kitties.

4. Lighter fur animals tend to cause less allergic reaction than darker hair
That's with both dogs & cats. If you have mild allergies but decide to get an animal - stick with the white/orange cats instead of the grey/black ones
