Worst Ticketmaster stories? |
|
Bought two tickets to see Nanci Griffith, admittedly in Atlanta while I'm in Columbia, but still. 2 X $35 = $89. Who knew? Can you top this?

4. Two tickets to the HFStival |
|
I bought them online. They were supposed to be $40 each. I paid a total of $106 after the service charge, the charge for QuikPrint or whatever it's called, and some mysterious $8 dollar charge that only showed up on the final copy of my reciept, there was no explanation for it.

10. "Love at the Five & Dime" is as close as we get to an "our song" |
|
It's Alice's 30th birthday, so I figured she deserved something special.
I don't even know "Red Brick Floor." I'll look forward to hearing it.

6. on my way back from buying tickets at a Ticketmaster |
|
A cop mistook me for a wanted flasher, and dragged me over to the women that were flashed...
luckily, they knew it wasn't me.
I was like 19 or 20 at the time.

Though, I'm sure they were egregious, even in the late 80s.

7. years ago, guns and roses show |
|
4 tix @ $65= $320 to see guns at pocono raceway (i think). they sold that show out so they cancelled it and moved to a bigger venue somewhere else and wouldn't honor the sold tickets to the smaller venue. then they wouldn't refund the money, only exchange for other shows, by that time the new date was sold out. no guns tickets. ended up having to use the credits for other shows as they came up. then to make up for the unused balance, we had to spend more money or leave the balance with ticketmaster.
i go to fights in atlantic city sometimes and always try to buy tickets directly from the venue. whenever you click the link to buy tix directly it takes you to ticketmaster. thanks for nothing.

12. Bought two tickets to Smashing Pumpkins back in 95/96 in NYC |
|
Can't remember the year, I think it was 95. It was the night that the keyboardist died ODing with Jimmy.
So the concert was "post-poned".
I called them every day for an update, if there was a new date set yet.
Then finally one day I call and get told, "oh it was last night."
