Poll question: Which of these long running TV Series over stayed their welcome
It's not that they weren't fine shows, but even some very good shows stay on the air two or even three seasons too long and grow stale--Which of these are in that category?

20. Thank you!
That show sucked donkey balls! I especially resented the fact that people got so offended because I didn't like it. Still do, judging by other replies to your post...

3. "Friends"
Lasted two years longer than it should have. NBC caved in to the greed of the stars, IMO. $1 million per episode for Matt LeBlanc is fucking ridiculous, IMO.

27. When they hit the million mark then everyone on TV tried to jump on the
bandwagon. That is one of the reasons the TV season is so damm short these days. I remember when it started in September and ended with May sweeps without a rerun in between.

8. X Files is definitely one that over stayed its welcome
It went on for so long and they got the plots so convoluted even the creator and the scriptwriters forgot what they were going to do.

25. That would have been a good place to end it
I still pissed off at Chris Carter and how he utterly screwed up Millennium and then gave it a shabby ending on the X Files

26. Millenium was a whole nother screwup
I will NEVER forgive Carter for that shit. The second season totally rocked, and the next they abruptly went back to the boring serial-killer-of-the-week shtick.

Hey, Chris, there's a million shows out there just like that, we watch your shows for the angels and demons and freaky shit! Moron :grr:

(In all fairness it was probably the moneymen that did that, I dunno)

But yeah, it was the Gunmen who came to such an ignominous end on X-Files. Oh well, maybe Jimmy Bond'll get his own show, one can only hope...

28. I know !
What the hell was up with that. He finally has gotten it really intresting then he does a 180 and makes it into a lame ass version of the X Files. People wanted to see the wierd shit. Thats why we were tuning in. Off the subject a little another show that was NEVER given a chance and replaced by a show that had already failed twice was Brimstone. I though that show had a lot of potential but the killed it off before it had even been a full season and replaced it with that thrice damned Sliders. Someone on Sliders must have been a god or goddess in bed for it to be given so many chances after it kept failing. That is the only reason I can think of for its survival.

17. Happy Days
And any other show (sitcom) that uses a live audience where the audience goes wild every time one of the regular actors appears on stage. That's my benchmark. When the dialogue is delayed until the wild applause stops, it's time to wrap.

21. Happy days is where the term "jump the shark" came from
In a later episode where Fonzie literally tried to jump a shark.
