Live 8 Live in Your Living Room (Streams & Broadcasts announced)
http://music.yahoo.com/read/news/21061495

All you who missed out the ticket lottery or can't swing that last-minute fare to London to see the anticipated Pink Floyd reunion, fear not--Live 8 is going to be live in your living room.

In the U.S., Viacom-owned MTV, VH1 and MTV's college network mtvU, will share a live feed, offering eight hours of coverage from noon to 8 p.m. ET. Interspersed throughout will be packaged reports about the G8, the issues at stake and a retrospective on Live Aid. Sibling networks VH1 Classic and CMT will also showcase highlights of Live 8 performances featuring artists geared specifically toward their formats. Internationally, MTV, VH1 and Music Factory networks will have hourly bulletins about the show. This will be the most amount of time MTV has dedicated to a live broadcast since Woodstock '99.

On July 3, MTV's various networks around the world will beam a one-hour Live 8 special showcasing the best performances from all eight concerts.

On the dial, XM Satellite Radio will broadcast the five main gigs-- in Philadelphia, London, Paris, Berlin and Rome--starting at 9 a.m. ET, while Premiere Radio Networks will channel genre-specific live performances to urban, rock, and pop radio formats. AOL, which will carry Live 8 at AOLmusic.com, will also make the concerts available for download up to six weeks after the event.
