7. They had to get someone from Gene Kelly's agent/estate/heirs
to agree to this adaptation and pay for it, too.

Personally, I like it. It's memorable. Better than Fred Astaire dancing with a vacuum cleaner or some other piece of hardware a couple of years ago.
