arrrggghhh -- pain flareup |
|
a few months ago I was diagnosed with fibra-mialga (sp?)... of course that diagnoses may change again the next time I go to the doctor... seems to change everytime I go to doctor... :sigh:
enny-whoo - whatever it is that I got has flared up again.. major pain factor today..
yeah, been to chriopractors, nerve blocks, trigger points, stim-boxes, meds, heat pads, cold packs, massage, supplements, vitamins and the rest of the gamut
I'm not looking for advise, info... just need to bitch about it a bit
thanks...

The pain is at the very top part of the neck and is mostly on one side?

mainly right shoulder, right side of neck, back of head is where it hurts the most
then there's the "restless legs", hips, left elbow/shoulder that also kicks in
there's a "rock of Gibraltar" size knot in the right shoulder blade area too...
I can take some major "la-la" pills, but all they do is knock me out, nada for just easing the pain -- but I can't take them at the moment I have to go to work and sleeping during work hours is frowned upon...
on edit: (7:18am) thanks for listening, time to go to work... maybe I can just hide in my cubical for the rest of the day and no one will bother me...

4. The knot in your shoulder sounds like it might be a cyst. |

I've been having a similar problem. I have a collapsed disk in my neck. I've had pain for years, always shifting from one side to the other.
I've also had a consistent pain at the top right side of my neck that has lasted for years. I was always very tired too and thought I might have Fibro Myalgia.
The pain was really reaching a crescendo last month right before I was struck with Bell's Palsy. Bell's Palsy is a nerve disorder that results from inflammation of the nerve that serves the face. My right side of my face has been temporally paralyzed. It usually happens only on one side. The cause is unknown but it's believed to be a herpes virus. I never have any herpes like symptoms and haven't had a cold sore since I was a kid. There is no cure but I was treated with an anti viral and an anti inflammatory for one week.
Since then I've been doing some web surfing on the problem and one the things that people who have it say is to take a lot of extra B complex vitamins. The sub-lingual kind is best.
By the way. Since the Bell's Palsy, as I've started to recover, the pain has lessened considerably.

but I find that an Advil before bed helps to keep my fybromylgia symptoms from disturbing my sleep. One of the secret to managing this condition is getting enough sleep. BTW ~ I've been working on this for 11 years.

5. been about 12 years for me |
|
started up after I spent a couple of hours chopping ice out of a driveway
thought at first I had just "over did" things...
I can't take Advil - I get a few of the nastier side effects from it..
when it gets real bad I just take a major la-la, go to sleep and hope it's better when I wake up
