12. Anyone Who Calls Me A "Sinner" For Being Gay...
... is despicable.

Graham says that homosexuality is wrong, and then writes,

There are steps that are crucial for you to follow if you are ever to conquer this. First, if you have never asked Christ to come into your life I urge you to do so without delay. . . .

Then get help from others for your problem. Don't be afraid to seek help or to share your problem in confidence with someone you can trust who also can help you. There may be many complex reasons for your homosexual tendencies, and a skilled pastor can probably point you to a Christian psychologist or psychiatrist who has had experience in dealing with others who have been in your situation. Such a person can help you understand yourself and why you have become the person you are, and will also help you - both emotionally and spiritually - to leave your old way of living and become the person Christ wants you to be. (p. 228-229)

14. That is really lousy. I was thinking more of his civil rights stuff back
in the 60s but clearly he fell off the path on civil rights since then.

Tell ya what? Let's go visit Bishop Spong instead! *g*

7. Fenris, in this atmosphere of violence, I think you should drop your
signature about the Bee Gees.

I happened to like their music and the sad, untimely death of their brother Andy Gibb due to mental illness and drug use was a pity.

He performed in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" many years ago in Philadelphia, I believe, and I was privileged to see him in that performance. He was a very handsome and talented man. To see what appears to be his brothers in the crosshairs of your picture was appalling to me. I believe one of the twins died not so long ago, leaving only two.

Please re-think this graphic. I appreciate your consideration.

33. Yep, just looked it up
"He recently has spoken out against steroid use in sports based on his own experiences. Numerous surgeries, two artificial hips, a fused ankle and living his life in constant pain has brought him into a new knowledge of the drug he used to use to get ahead, to a drug that ultimately led him to money, fame and the world title."

I don't know a whole lot about the guy. I didn't know he didn't like Jews. As I said, I knew someone would fill me in on why I shouldn't like him. I am willing to be enlightened. Fill me in. What did he say? (I am not being sarcastic here either; I really would like to know!) :hi:

On edit, I guess when I said I respected him, I meant for not being like most of the others, however, I do not know much about him, so maybe I should save the respect until I do.

DUers don't because they go after DEMs also..

"They Don't Know How I Really Feel"
Billy Graham, Tangled Up in Tape

By David Vest

Almost thirty years after President Nixon resigned in disgrace, the tapes continue to come out, their power to sully reputations undimmed by time.

Now it is the Rev. Billy Graham who has been made to feel the lash of his own words, secretly taped by the president who sought his spiritual counsel and used him for "cover."

We knew, long ago, of Nixon's own anti-Semitism. We heard his voice on the first wave of tapes, wanting to know how his daughters were being deployed in his re-election campaign. When staffers told him they were scheduled to appear at functions in support of the arts, he protested, "No, no, that's Jews and queers."

<snip>

he apologized but he got caught on tape so....i take his apology with a grain of salt...

22. That certainly is interesting. It is hard to tell if it was
a genuine apology or an I got caught apology. I like to think we all make mistakes and we should be given second chances, but when you don't know if someone is sincere or not, it makes it hard. Oh well! I'll just stay neutral on him. Maybe not respect him, but not trash him either. Thanks for the info!
