What movie(s) are you going to watch/rent/go to this weekend? |
|
My friend loaned me his 2 Chris Elliot (sp?) DVD's (the "Get a Life" series and another video of his). Probably partake of those this weekend.
You?

3. I finally saw Revenge Of The Sith last night |
|
Edited on Sat Jun-25-05 02:04 PM by mvd
The electricity going out in my development finally got me going. Here are some thoughts:
Acting: I thought that Hayden Christensen didn't give the depth to Anakin that the book gave. I thought he was a little dull, and maybe they forced him to seem modern too much. But Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine) were perfect!
Story: Started out slowly, but the battle scenes near the end were great. Everything was tied in nicely. And I thought that everything from the Grievous/Kenobi battle on was as gripping and intense as the book was.
Script: Nothing really stood out as horrible. The original series had some more clever dialogue.
I give it 3 1/2 stars out of 4! The best of the prequels.

13. I liked what McDiarmid said during an interview ... |
|
Wearing those creepy contact lenses to play Palpatine gave him (temporary) tunnel vision -- "just what you need to be an Emperor".

15. A leather belt to gnaw on? Planning a bit of intensity, huh? |
|
Hah. Haven't seen Saw, I don't think it's my style. But, Slingblade is excellent, I think. Sad on several levels. John Ritter is great, and Dwight Yoakum (I hope I remember correctly) is a class A victimizer. And Billy Bob, well, what can you say. He can be as weird as he wants in his personal life, as long as he keeps making movies.

|
(documentary based on General Dallaire's account of the Rwandan genocide)
I picked up a near-mint condition DVD on sale secondhand (I hadn't realized it had been released yet). The local library is very keen to have it for their collection, but I want to screen it myself first (I only saw the last half hour on the CBC).

|
...and I rented:
Hide and Seek. Excellent movie. Has quite a twist.
Bride and Prejudice. It was ok. Had a few laughs.
Eulogy. Had its moments.
Sky Captain (Jude Law, Gwenyth Paltrow, and Angelina Jolie) The only reason I got this one was for Angelina. LOL

28. Well, I have a choice of five that my neighbor loaned me. |
|
I haven't had a chance to watch them until today. I have Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, The Missing, The Incredibles, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Geronimo. Think I'll skip Geronimo because I'm not into cowboys and Indian movies. I think I'll start off the Harry Potter.
