1. The dark.
I have an overactive imagination.

I lie to myself (and others) and say I'm not scared, but inside, I'm terrified.

58. Creepy.
I was lying in bed AWAKE the other morning, and the kid across the street knocked on the door. I saw my son (10) go by the doorway in his undies, and told him to eat some breakfast before he had the kid in.

My other son (22) asked me who I was talking to, that the little guy was still asleep, and that he'd sent the neighbor kid home.

I was awake, o.k?

10. Did you see the one
about the family in Georgia (or was it Alabama? anyway one of the southeastern states)... where the little girl saw a friendly ghost for a long time... the mom thought it was an imaginary friend... then the neighbor heard a description and told the mom it was the former resident? Then a bad ghost showed up...

This kinda stuff is why I'm scared of the dark! :scared:

I hope I'm wrong... I always think of that suspicion I have when I'm doing something naughty. I really don't want anyone around watching during those times.

I've only been stung once, when I was about 30. And it was just a very brief, quick sting, without full force and effect.

My dad made me scared of them when I was kid, because he would throw gas on their nests and scream, "RUN," as he threw lit matches on them.

Then, a guy I knew told me that his dad was stung on the back of the neck by a wasp and died.

Plus, I had a mean swimming instructor that was punishing me by making me sit out of the pool and a wasp was crawling toward me. I wasn't supposed to move. He said, "Good, let it sting you." I cried.

Me no like.

http://www.lef.org/protocols/prtcl-005.shtml

Allergies are abnormal immune reactions to specific agents known as antigens or allergens. Examples of common allergens are foods, drugs, pollens, dust mites, mold spores, animal dander, feathers, and insect venoms, as well as other substances which non-allergic people find relatively non-dangerous with usual exposure. Allergies may develop when an otherwise innocent substance has significant contact with an already inflamed surface (sensitization), such as from a viral infection or exposure to irritants, and becomes involved in the immune response. Thereafter, repeated exposure to such a substance may evoke an allergic response with the release of histamine and a variety of other pro-inflammatory substances, including enzymes, leukotrienes, and interleukins, and the creation of damaging free radicals. The multiplicity of these pro-inflammatory substances explains why single medications such as antihistamines often fail to completely control symptoms

Edited on Fri Jun-24-05 07:17 PM by Champ
Afraid of being misunderstood. I sometimes can't adequately express myself to those close to me in a relationship and I come out more misunderstood that I wanted. Afraid of saying something that will come out completely wrong, if I'm afraid of loosing someone it affects me. Afraid of doing something that doesn't truly reflect who I am and leaves long-lasting impressions that are hard to shake. I NEED to overcome this fear.

I can't think of anything other then that, I'm not afraid of gangs, weapons, natural disasters, bugs, trying new things, peforming stunts which has a chance of physical injury, 18-wheeler coming after me, I really don't get startled by those things I fear it affects my judgment in those situations. Wish I could have the same attitude when it comes to what I'm really afraid of.

On edit: I lied, there was time where I was truly terrified. It was when I was alone in a parking with a loose Rotweiler. I wasn't freaked by the initial accounter but once I realized it was difficult to get out of the situation and he kept growling and approaching me is when I freaked. By I used my brain to get out of the situation instead of running which would've been a big no-no.

Last time I had to get a shot four people had to hold me down. If they don't I'm likely to hurt the person trying to give me the shot. Not purposefully really, I just really freak out and because I'm a large person if I start to struggle I could hurt someone. Wish they would just listen to me a strap me down, tried to get them to do that last time, but they came up with some excuse that they couldn't do that even with my consent.

I haven't been able to watch any part of that film since my first viewing as a kid, many years ago.

During the re-release of the film a few years ago, I had to put a pillow over my face during the commercials while watching television. Something about that horrible voice coming out of that little girl--yikes. Not to mention the sound of the bed posts pounding the floor.

Strangely enough I have no issues at all with the Omen--but can't do a thing with the Exorcist.

Yes, I used to live in Florida. Palmetto bugs are high up the list - particularly the ones that fly (and they always fly straight towards your face). Spiders - but only the larger ones. The ones below would probably lead to heart failure:

I'll bet its beautiful though.
I had a tough time even driving in Los Angeles or the Black Hills. If I were raised in a mountainous area I might've gotten more used to it.

70. Heights
Especially tall buildings. I used to work on the 6th floor of an 11-story building and it didn't bother me to be in there but I couldn't stand near it outside and look up without getting dizzy. The worst is theater balconies and stadium bleechers and the higher rows in Imax theaters. Oh, and Ferris wheels, too, but only when they stop to let people on or off when I'm at the top, dangling, with just that bar preventing me from sliding out of that slippery, slippery seat. :scared:

73. small planes flying over my car.
I saw a small plane crash when I was a kid and I freak out if I have to drive under a small plane.

76. Loud noises mostly
Loud voices including people suddenly yelling or talking loudly as at a party or noisy restaurant

Dogs barking,

Loud power tools suddenly starting, if I'm not working with them or know that someone is using them

Sirens, obviously

I startle very easily and it really :scared: me when these things happen. :-(

77. Dentists
Dentists creep me out, especially their instruments.
I've seen the movie "Marathon Man" and the part where the Nazi dentist guy tortures that dude saying "Is it safe? over and over.
I actually have a very nice dentist but still...

Oh and Bush. Creeps me out. :scared: :scared:
