left work early and saw Land of the Dead.
i thought it was a very good movie. and the flesh eating, very realistic. well, i am guessing since i don't see all that much real life flesh eating...

the only bad part was that i had the time wrong and we missed the previews. i LOVE previews. but we did miss the commercials so i guess it all comes out ok.

1. Good news, I'm seeing it tomorrow night at midnight!
Was it made in Pittsburgh? He used to make all of them there.

Best line in a movie (from the original Dawn of the Dead

On top of the mall after being attacked by waves of Zombies for a couple of days:

Human 1: Why do they keey comming here?

Human 2: They've always come here, they think there's something here they want.

 What a comment. Romero is a genius.

Clark-Romero The dream ticket!

2. It has gotten quite a few raving reviews, I won't get to see it until the
dvd comes out but I LOVE Romero!

Dawn of the Dead is one of the best horror movies ever made.

So how did this one stack up to the others?

3. i would never say it was better than Dawn of the Dead.
but it was comparable. i have liked some of the other recent zombie movies but Land of the Dead was so much better. just the right touch of humor and a lot of flesh eating, limb removal and shots to the head.

i love violent movies and books. i think it is because they allow me to get my aggression out in acceptable ways.

4. kmlewis, You've given me a reason to live another day.
I checked out the web site. Looks tastey!

http://www.landofthedeadmovie.net/htdocs/lotd.html

Chicago Tribune, Michael Wilmington
"It's...pure Romero, which means it's another hard-edged, funny, playfully perverse and violent exercise in movie fear and loathing..."

Oh, kmlewis, if you want to wallow in some real, hard core gratutious violence, see "The Wild Bunch" by Sam Peckinpagh. That's where it all began and there hasn't been much to top it.

Maybe not.

Some theatre goers have been complaining that they are duped into arriving at the advertised time, only to find they are captive to not only previews, but also advertising, so some theatres are now advertising the ACTUAL main featre start time.

Times change.
