Should I have lunch with a Frist "Staffie" this week |
|
I am a Citizens Corps volunteer and a Red Cross Disaster Service volunteer (Leadership Level). This week our community is having a simulated sarin gas attack - and I have been assigned/asked to "work" a Frist Family owned hospital and "baby sit" a Frist senate staffie.
:puke:
My assignment includes briefing the Frist staffie before and after the exercise.
I don't like Frist. I don't want to associate with his repuke staffie. I expect the dude to be a real a-hole.
I am no kid, I am retiree -- and I have dabbled in NGO Disaster Response most of my adult life. I don;t throw up at the sight of blood - and I stay calm.
I just don't like Frist!!!!
Both our Red Cross paid staff and our Office of Emergency Services Director have told me "You are a Volunteer Responder - just like a Fire Figher or a Paramedic - Your serve humanity (not the Frists), You serve impartially, Your serve politically neutral, You serve those in distress without regard to race or religion or nationality. Buck up, swallow hard, set an example for your subordinates and trainees --- and brief the focker - and smile as if you enjoy it.
Advice?

2. any chance you can get your hands on some real sarin gas? |
|
or maybe just borrow Powell's little vial of anthrax? Seriously, you should bring up frist's diagnosis of Terri as reacting to visual stimiuli. Please, please find a way to work that into the coversation!

3. Is Frist your Senator? |
|
If so grin and bear it. You never know when you will be going to Frist asking for something.
As someone who has had the misfortune of having to deal with a long line of repuke senators and reps, I've become very good at holding my tongue and masking my true feeling while lobbying them on a host of issues.
Someday that contact in Frist's office may pay huge dividends in terms of gaining a hearing and access.
