We had a thread about that tune a couple weeks ago.

It came out originally on the album of the same name. It's on the 2CD Quicksilver compilation called Sons of Mercury (Rhino Records), which is well worth getting if you like the band.

The suthor, Dino Valenti, a/k/a Chet Powers, a/k/a Jesse Oris Farrow, was an interesting character, as you can conjecture from the fact that he cultivated pseudonyms. Unfortunately, he is now dead, and so is guitarist John Cippolina.
