One of the feral kittens has now been spayed . . . the other kicked my ass |
|
with her little walnut-sized brain. Bet you can't guess which one.
Yep. Skittles. Skittles kicked my ass once again. She would NOT be caught! Charley was easy. She just followed the laser-pointer spot right into the carrier. I hated to use subterfuge, but what was I gonna do? She's semi-feral.
Charley is home now, shut in the master bedroom. The ordeal terrified her, poor baby. And they took WAY too much off her ear. (I had her ear-tipped* in case she ever gets out and reverts to being fully wild.)
* Ear-tipping is done by feral colonists so they know which cats have already been altered.

When I tried to snag Eddie and Ishka to go get fostered with their babies, they wouldn't hear of it. I also tried to snag Antimatter so she could move in with us and her ex-husband Imhotep (and the rest of the hordes), but she tried to kill me. I've never seen a cat that small act that ferocious. :wow:
Glad Charley's home safe. With your usual kind care, I'm sure she'll be de-spooked in no time. Please give her a scratchie for me, if she'll let you get that close. :)
Thanks for taking care of all those wonderful furry people!

I never got close enough to touch her. The trick will be getting her into the bathroom. Small space and a quick wrap with a towel is the ticket.
Charley will get your scratchie; once she's de-spooked she'll start sleeping on the bed again, at which time she allows me a pet or two.

what if you started calling Skittles cat by another more calm name such as sweetie...Maybe Skittles cat is connected psychically to Skittles and is only trying to live up to the illustrious name?

But not from this episode. When I try, once again, to catch Skittles next week . . . well, I'll report back. ;)

10. It appears, that what you had there with Skittles, was a failure to |
|
communicate! :hi:
There is a special place for those who care so much to get their ass kicked by a cat.

11. I dunno, Mrs. G. . . . I think she communicated quite well, while all |
|
I did was lie to her.
"Come on, Skittles, it'll be okay, nothing to be afraid of."
"Bullshit, Mom!"

13. Good for you Bertha!! |

You're wonderful to spay/neuter these ferals!! I've been catching neighborhood strays to have them fixed and then releasing them for years (of course, some stick around my house and I feed and vet them).
Have you tried the Have-A-Heart humane traps? They've worked wonders for me trapping ferals to get them to the vet's for neutering.

Yes, I have four of the traps. We have a colony of 7 - 10, but few are yet altered. I've fallen down on the job.
These two kittens were trapped in November and we meant to socialize them and find them homes. We were unsuccessful. So now they're ours. Sigh.
