7. People call it "putt putt" because that's all you do - putt and putt some |
|
more!
I call it either, depending on who I am with. Of course, I haven't gone mini golfing in years, so I don't have much call to refer to it at all.

And I thought all the DUers with a good sense of humor hung out in the Lounge; might have to revise that thinking.
And I have such a catchy reply to the notion that adults don't use phrases like "putt putt" (rhymes and everything), but, well, no...never mind!

6. But do adults play such games? |
|
If an adult plays miniature golf--which is a game for kids--then adults should refer to it by the kiddie name. Putt Putt Golf. :D

12. Come on, it is a real sport |

As a child, I played minature golf at a Putt Putt (the franchise) course. As I understand it, people play in tournaments at Putt Putt courses. I even remember seeing people play it on television as a child. The people on television were very good and usually got hole in ones or 2. I was also pretty good. I went there with a couple of youth organizations and won or placed high. Here in Wisconsin, I have not seen the franchise. There are various minature golf courses. I don't tend to play as well on them because I don't play as often. They are also different from what I am used to because they often have weird obstacles or traps not found on Putt Putt courses. The walls aren't reliable. Some of the surfaces around here are really bad as well. I prefer it over regular golf because I am really bad at driving. It takes me at least 4 or 5 shots to get on the green and usually more. It takes me a long time to play. My short game is much better. I'd rather play minature golf.

Putt putt golf is a specific type of mini golf. It is a franchise name. It is also the type that they play in tournaments. That is not putt putt because it does not have solid orange walls. A fake rock would not be on a putt putt course either.
