Isn't Pennywise the creepiest clown ever???
"It" is on right now.
Someone needs to kick that creepy clown's ass.

One of the best and funniest characters ever written. The movie sucked compared to the book though.

I'm half watching it -- doing housework in between.
It may be off by now. The tv is off in this room.

Pennywise, no!!
My favourite parts never made it into the movie (it would have been 20 hours long if they had): it was all the vignettes of the history of Derry, from the prehistoric arrival of Pennywise's "vehicle" to the burning of the "Black Spot". That's what gave the story depth, for me.
The image of Pennywise hanging from the air and shooting people as the fled the burning Black Spot tavern is just so creepy.

My great gramma bought me this clown doll when I was little, After watching "It", the little clown doll freaked me out. It had one of those little turny key things on its back, and would move its head around while playing crappy clown music. I just knew that thing was evil.
It's evilness was confirmed one night, while laying in bed getting ready to fall asleep, I looked toward my window and... the thing's head was moving, no music playing, just it's head, moving, in the moonlight. Still freaks me out today, lol. I threw that thing away a couple years later when I finally decided it probably wouldn't come back if I did. (That was why it took so long to get rid of it... I thought for sure if I did throw it out, I would wake up one morning with it sitting on my windowsill.)

9. It's my favorite Stephen King book. |
|
I have never seen the movie, not wishing to destroy the images I conjure up in my own head when reading the book.
It's been a good many years since I read "It", nearly 10 probably. Time for a reread.

But, I'm with you...I wish I hadn't seen it. One of the things about the kind of "evil" in "It" is that it's the way each person imagines it that makes it so frightening; once it's been made concrete, even if it is Tim Curry, it's not as scary as what you're capable of imagining.
Plus, just like the TV movie of Tommyknockers, much of the backstory is discarded to save time. At least it had Traci Lords in it as a horny postal worker.
