When your dog is comfy asleep on the bed, and you need to sleep...
do you move him?

I don't. He just looks so happy.

1. Yes. I get in bed, and she gets up and does the dog step...
you know, walks around in a circle until she has the covers stomped down, and then she plops down and goes right back to sleep. :D

3. I Try Not To
I get into bed as quietly and as gently as possible, trying not to disturb her.

If I do, though, she usually will groan, lick my face a couple times...maybe beg for some belly rub, and eventually settle back down, sometimes with the 3-circle routine...but then she flops back down, snuggled up close to me, and goes back to sleep.

she's cool like that.

my current avatar is a picture of my doggie.

4. Never. I just sort of squeeze in ...
and if he's feeling generous, he'll move over. Otherwise, I'm left with my ass hanging off the bed and no blankets!

He's the king of the castle; I'm just a peasant! :P

6. I also try not to. But Jake is a pretty big Akita..
Speaking of which.. Sunday morning is coming. I need to turn on the TV in the bedroom. ESPN2 always shows "American Gun Dog" (and other canine programming) for a few hours on early Sunday mornings, and Jake always gets to hop on the bed and watch this as he falls asleep.

Yeah.. he keeps late hours.. just like his daddy.. :P

7. I try to move Slicker over but usually wind up teetering on the
edge of the bed. If he joins me after I'm already in bed, he goes right against my back, sometimes with his nose jabbing me right where I had my surgery. Sometimes I'm forced to turn so my stomach is facing him...at least there's a space that sort of molds to him without creating that pain in my back!! He also gets the topsheet I use as a bedspread (I dare not use a regular quilt) placed over him, just to keep him comfy...

In the morning, one of the chihuahas, Tico, comes in and insists that I put him on the bed, too. If we're lucky, peace reigns....
