Mr. Scorpio, or anyone in the know
Where are some quality and/or kick-a$$ places to visit in and about Amsterdam? My friend and I work in human services so we will be on a budget, but we do want to have a good time. All suggestions are greatly appreciated. :applause:

1. The first thing that you need to do, once you get to Amsterdam

Is go to a newspaper stand and buy a copy of TIME OUT AMSTERDAM

It's an invaluable resource

2. Here are a few places worthy of note...
:)

Rusland -- a marvelous place to get your head in order :smoke:

The Cafe Luxembourg -- an old "brown pub" and a great place to have lunch and people-watch

The Pancake Bakery -- just a short walk from the Anne Frank Museum

And, of course, the Rijksmuseum

5. You can visit Anne Franks
hideout, The "Annex."

And you have to have some Rijstafel - Indonesian "curry."

And there are some way cool museums. Just walking through the city is a treat. Take a canalboat tour, oh lordy, you are gonna love it.

Try some online searches for the current great spots. It's been 23 years since I was there so what the hell do I know?

:hi:

9. Anne Frankenhaus is already on my list
I'm just cheesed I can't take pics :-(

I'll keep the canalboat tours in mind, they sound like fun. I've heard some of them are free, which is within my price range. Thanks!
