we've had a pair of phoebes nesting in the back stoop overhang.
They had 5 babies. It's been fun watching them grow and being fed.
this morning we were treated to watching all 5 babies hop out on a rafter and leave the nest
my partner now says she has empty nest syndrome...

1. Oh, good. Here's my best empty nest story: |
|
Didn't happen to me, mind you, but it was a story I read that stuck.
A bird started a nest in this person's bathroom. Yes, bathroom. It must have had access to the outside because I remember she said something about the bathroom door being open during the day, and closed at night. Anyway, she got to see the whole process as you did, except for one hitch. When the birds were leaving the nest, one of them fell in the open toilet and drowned.
Sad, really.
