HELP!!! Hubbys Dad was here for dinner.
He Always baits me (Repuke). He was a able to slither hubby and I into an argument. I say that our economy is sooo f*cked that we will not be able to 'swing' out unless drastic changes are made over the short term. He (hubby) says... it always swings back and forth, this is no different.

Him= Stanford MBA
Me= Anthro BA +Soc.

I say that there has never been a more powerful military force on the planet- w/o peer, and currently w/o conscience.

The PNAC doctrine tells us we need global pop. reduction.

I've had 3 glasses of wine.

I am fearful for our future, AM I JUST PARANOID or PUI?

3. 6 people in the room... bait directed right between hubby and I
I haven't bitten for a year or so. Let's just say the 3 glasses of wine had something to do w/it.

He aimed the bait between hubby and me.

2. Sounds like a weekly occurrence at my place
sans the in-law.

It can be fun to discuss politics over a bottle. Both seem to go hand-in-hand. When discussion gets too heated, just agree to disagree and stop. Next time.

5. HThis has been on-going for 26 years (met hubby in HS)
Bottle or bong... it still gets ugly. And he is on his 6th marriage.

I am happy that hubby didn't get that gene segment.

4. What a sick joke....
Tell him to shut Bob O-Reilly's show down completely. Fascism by PNAC doctrine is not a good thing, and your husband needs to wake up to it. Only way that will happen is by shutting off O-Lielly and listening to the radio, for real.

8. Well that's good news,
Your husband needs to pass on this valuable insight to the repuke friend on the other side. He clearly is trying to make false PNAC speak a wedge issue. Have your husband enlighten him about PNAC if you can't do it yourself. Only by turning off Bob O-Liely's brainwashing will a republican ever figure it out on their own.

9. But it's hubby's father..... Last time I tried to 'enlighten him''
I was doing 82 mph (at traffic speed) as he was screaming at me. I am a VERY calm person in times of uncertaintude or crisis.

NO FOXCNNMSNBCABC......

In my world. It is therefore disturbing that I get this sh*t thrown at me

10. Appeal to his common principles.
Explain that the republicans lie about the raising taxes issue, and the neocons PNAC plan is a direct copycat of Hitler's fascist crusade as well as Nixon's. Show him just how "moral" it is to any average american, like himself, asked to support the wars.

Inform him that only the priveledged will survive the chaos of the billion dollar deficits and that's why repuglicans are always cramming PNAC bullshit down his throught. So he keeps the elite in power and the poor slaves to a bunch of bureaocrats.

13. He gets his what?
He may just be grasping at straws at this point, so ask him what he is actually getting. Justice? Moralization? Principles?

From a bunch of lying thugs?

You don't even have to say it all, just ask him to address what he is specifically getting. Once you get to that part, it's easy for him to figure it out on his own.

15. Oh no wonder....

Maybe you need to give him a god damn book. All that brainwashing crap about gays being bad, and everyone needing to be policed sexually are the product of nutjobs who work for Ralph Reed.

Hell, it always starts somewhere. Give him some real alternative sources for a change to understand that being gay or straight is not some pre-conceived disease or that there is a real huge problem with the world...........

You know, accidental therapy. Then when he realizes "OH! That gay person didn't screw me out of my retirement benefits, instead it was that straight rich faggot who hired jeff gannon" it'll hit him like a ton of bricks.

;)

7. actually it is probably even worse than that
because of what bush and company, including PNAC have done in the last 5 years oil prices are at record highs, the middle east is even more unstable, and by going into Iraq we have assurred an eventual Shitte theocracy, which will disrupt the whole balance of power, unless of course we start to engage in a dialog with Iran, which I highly doubt

in 7 to 10 years people will wonder why they cannot afford to retire, send their kids to college, have adequate healthcare, and why the country is going will be going through a major economic downturn.

The seeds that have been planted by these criminals will condem us for years

If you treat someone like a friend, they will be your friend. If you treat them like an enemy, they will be your enemy. This is what they have done to us, they have treated the world as an enemy, and unfortunately there will probably be blow back. Somewhere in Iraq there is a parent who has lost a child, or a child who has lost a parent. No one has been untouched, and they won't forget it

16. Punish him - withhold sex.
Just kidding, but you've got a job ahead of you.

Since 2000, I have become estranged from my own family, as one at a time they've fallen into a TV-induced sleep. They won't see what's in front of their own faces and I find them unbelievably shallow. I no longer bite my tongue when one of them makes a stupid-ass remark (straight from TV news), I ream their collective ass. I got my fill of being quiet in the months after September 11.

This life has been an eye opener for me, especially when I realized that I don't like them very much anyway, nor they me.

Good luck, sweetie!
