1. Only if they were funny.
I get more "laughter" out of the Jon Stewart Show than any sitcom.

5. You beat me to that answer.
The question assumes that sitcoms are actually funny.

Does not compute by me.

Police Squad, maybe.

NGU.

2. Or hang around people with senses of humor. TV sets need to be blown up.
Not people for oil.

3. I find Faux News
to be a much more consistant source of comedy than sitcoms. Nothing tops The Daily Show for consistant laughs though.

4. I don't watch news anymore except for sports/weather
it's too depressing. I get my news from the Daily Show. :-)

I generally watch HGTV, cooking shows on PBS and FoodTV, sitcoms like Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and sports. I am much happier as a result.

6. Sitcoms make you laugh? Lucky you!
I quit watching news. It just makes me ill. Not the news itself, but the way it's presented. It's more contrived and melodramatic, and less relevant, than any sitcom.

7. The fundamental flaw in that question
is that it presumes that sitcoms on broadcast television can actually make us laugh.
