What are you doing? How hot is it where you are?

... but it's too hot here in Maryland! I'll wait until the sun drops down behind the trees.
But... on the bright side... I did manage to give my Shih Tzu a haircut/grooming, nails clipped, and shampoo/conditioner/blowdry. She tolerates it and cooperates (mostly)... but now she's pouting and wants nothing to do with me.

hot here in eastern Pennsylvania. We have not had any rain for a while. I am hoping for a big thunderstorm to come soon to cool things down. One of the RV trailers got hit by lighting 2 years ago down the road though.

And you have humidity on top of the heat, which makes it even more enervating.
But then, you get rain in the summer, right? In California (normally-- this year has not been normal), our last rain is usually in April, then we don't see a drop until October. :(
(I love the rain)

One year we had huge amounts of rain (El Nino weather pattern) but they were tropical storms. Usually, I like to have a fire going when it rains but whenever I lit one, after a few minutes I had to throw open all the windows because it was too darn hot!!

I was posting in the MI forum that it's hard for me to believe that people actually go through the trouble to leave Michigan for warmer weather. But, like I also said in that thread, we won't be wondering come next February/March.

Well here in the armpit of Texas it's about 95 but I just got a new air conditioner and I've got it down to about 65. After I take a shower and put some clothes on I'll probably go over to mom's house and annoy her for a while.

|
It's mid 60s I'd say. Overcast and a little breezy. Rather nice. Mariners just tied up the game; my cat's asleep on the easy chair, and I have both the New York and Seattle Times to keep me company, plus I just opened a bottle of white wine.
Can't complain! But next Sunday I have to travel to northern Virginia for my husband's family reunion. Not looking forward to the travel or the weather (we'll see about the people...)
Have a good one.

It may have even hit 90. It was a record setter, or close to it. A colleague of mine visited for the first time - he's from Ontario Canada, and said he will never believe anything he reads or hears about Seattle again.
If we get to 80 here, people start complaining.
At least we don't get humidity, except for rain. :-)

the water hoses and pistols were out in force. There was so much water flying around it felt quite refreshing. Even the on-duty cops were having water fights with bystanders. For the first time the Chief of Police marched, as did our mayor and Jack Layton, head of the NDP party rode a bicycle built for 2 with his wife.

and cloudy, but no rain.
I'm chillin' on the couch with my fly bitch, after a day of relatively high household achievement. Probably steam some artichokes for the dinner hour. And read into oblivion tonight. Continue with The Confessions of Max Tivoli by Andrew Sean Greer, a guaranteed heartbreaker, so I've been told.
What has the prog weekend entailed? Did you play any good numbers yesterday? I couldn't listen, because I was down at oil painting class. But I did hear Marian McPartland's show on the way to eat some buffalo ch*cken wings, so thought of you.
Have a good week, lady.

degrees or more, I just want to SLAP them. (no offense to anyone who likes extreme heat)
Sometimes in N California, it can (and does) get up to 110 degrees.
Sometimes we'll get 30 consecutive days of 100 +
One year (back in the 1970s) it was 119 degrees!!
One good thing about summer is that Fall is the next season. :)

Long sleeves, stockings, heavy shoes... terrible
We didn't have A/C when I was growing up-- don't know how we stood it. (of course, back then, cars didn't have it either)
