I am SOOO fucking glad that all the gift holidays are over until Christmas
Here's how my year goes:

December: Christmas (I have a kid, so it gets expensive. Can't imagine having a passle of kids.)

January (right on the heels of Christmas): Son's birthday (He's 11 now, so, until this past year, that meant a huge b'day party.)

February: Brother's birthday; Mardi Gras (yes, it's a gift deal here)

March: Mother's Birthday

April: Easter; Mother's Day; my babygirl schnauzer's birthday

May: I get a breather

June: Father's birthday; Father's Day

And no more birthdays or gift events until October, when I will turn FORTY! And dammit I expect presents.

but I'm miserable at remembering to mail gifts. Good for you that you can handle it. :D

3. For us it's December, my b-day, our anniversary, Xmas.
December b-days always suck cuz you get one crappy gift from friends that's not only an X-mas gift, it's also your b-day gift, but don't try and pull that sh%# for their b-day if it is not in December.

4. Tell my son about it.
His birthday is two weeks after Christmas. He always gets the sappy Walmart markdown gifts for his birthday...you know, things like the Crayola maker that's been marked down to $3.

I don't do people that way, and it pisses me off that they do it to my kid. Perhaps I should start observing the anthropological laws of reciprocity.
