That helps. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comes out the same weekend as Harry Potter so it's going to be one busy weekend for me.

8. It takes me about a week to read them all.. |
|
And I pretty much have them all memorized now. It's a sickness, but I don't really have a lot to do when I'm not working. Duckie

I enjoy good children's books and I read the first Harry Potter and thought it was... okay. Nothing really out of the ordinary, cute idea, not particularly well written (IMO). Got the second one and was just bored by it. I think they're probably fun for kids and I know a lot of adults have enjoyed them as well but I just don't really see the fuss. I don't think the writing is all that great and the stories are rather pedestrian. Some cute stuff but certainly not cute enough to warrant the hooplah.
Flame away, Potter fans!

14. I think Rowling is so imaginative |

and I enjoy all the little tricks in the stories - the rotating staircases, the magical candy, the potions, talking photographs.

I think we are most excited than my son is. We have enjoyed reading all 5 of them and they get better as you read more of them. We have even reread a few. I think she is pretty good at plotting and can be quite clever with her twists. I also think the characters get more interesting as they "age."

to be honest, I'm not a harry potter fan, I never got into it, I tried once to watch one of the movies, and I just couldn't. I don't why, it just annoys me.

I go nuts for Halloween. The costume is actually left over from a few Halloweens ago. I enjoy going to my corporate job and wearing something totally bizarre all day. Ah, the joys of working at a technology company... :P

18. Can't wait for the book. |

I think Harry Potter provides a great way to get kids reading and a lot of adults too. The literacy levels in this country are a joke.
