Wedding Pictures Question |
|
Hi, I need some advice! My wedding was a little over a year ago and I would love to buy the originals (they were digital so I guess it would be the raw digital images rather "negatives".) We bought the medium sized package which was $2000 plus my mom and I both ordered extra photos. I LOVE all the photos and would really like to buy the raw digital images.
So, here's my question: Do I just call and ask the photographer if he will sell them? How much is a reasonable price? He took about 300 photos (but a lot of them are the same shot with different lighting). I just want to know about how much I should expect for a price.
I'd like to hear from anyone else who has purchased their wedding photo originals. Thanks!

1. The photographer sets the price and policy... |

and it will vary from one photographer to another. As the copyright holder the photographer does not have to sell you the originals at any time. You can ask the photographer if he/she would sell you the images. As a photographer I would probably charge $500 because I will not be able to make another dollar once you have possession.

4. I have several friends who are professional photographers. |

None sell negatives. (None use digital, though.)
