Today's Hike: A beautiful hawk, heron and osprey
Oh those osprey are beautiful. Today's hike was Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge which wasn't much of a hike as it was a wonderful stroll through an island right in the Cheskapeake Bay. But the birdwatching was incredible including a few birds of prey. There was a sign that Bald Eagles do live in the area but I didn't see any :(

The best was watching the Heron grab lunch. Looks like a tasty fish dinner for him!

1. You like birds? If you ever come to Connecticut, give me a call.
I'll take you to a place five minutes from our house where you'll see a nesting pair of bald eagles two hundred yards away, and all the herons, egrets, hawks, terns, and ospreys you can stand.

You'll love it.

Redstone

2. The school I went to has a stream running through the center of it
one summer I was coming out of class and no more than 15 feet away from me was a heron walking down the middle of the stream going after the guppies in it. That was very cool.

3. Last week saw a bunch of bald eagles.
Along with deer, great blue heron and I caught myself a nice northern pike.

4. Hawk Watching at Cape May Point is awesome
it sounds like you enjoyed a beautiful day walking through the Bay

I just realized that oysters will be back in season when I get there on Thursday in September before we all head out to D.C.

:hi:
