I've been watching the Miss Texas USA paegent on TV |
|
I know, I know, beauty paegents. I don't do political correctness.
Well anyway, during the interview segment this woman, I believe Miss North Texas, was asked about Iraq. She said something to the tune of "Our troops are there, and we need to get behind them and support them, and give them everything they need".
Sounds fine so far, if a little vague. The interviewer then asked her, "How do you feel about President Bush?". She said, "I think he's our president and we need to get behind him and behind our troops. He's doing a great job." There was quite a bit of applause from the crowd. I guess only in Texas would such a statement get that kind of applause today.

4. I know people that aren't all that conservative |
|
that have that attitude. My step-father usually votes democratic, but he basically thinks the same thing as the beauty pagent contestant. It's as if they have the attitude that because we are at war you have to support the president. I don't think that they know about how much Bush and his administration lied to get us into that war.

8. Miss America during the 70s |
|
was asked who she wanted to spend an hour talking to. I can only recall two answers. One of the contestants said "Daddy." The winner said "President Nixon" :puke:
