Why do white men have "Play that funky music white boy" as their ringtone? |
|
I swear there are at least 4 different cell phones from guys who sit in my area that are using that ringtone.
What gives?

|
I don't much care for any ringtones that sound like songs. I just like the rings.

I'm not sure having "Play That Funky Music" as one's ringtone equates to believing it is "the pinnacle of musical stylings."
It's a fun song. Some people just like it. Does it have to mean anything more than that?
Before anyone asks, my ringtone is set to Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, though it's almost always on vibrate anyway.

14. The Best Answer I Can Give You As A White FEMALE.... |
|
is that most of our culture has been copied from the blacks! I posted this recently in a thread. So much of the slang we use, so much of our music, fashion, sports and a myriad of other examples are simply evident daily.
Even OUR BLACK leaders seem to put themselves out there to fight the good fight. Need I mention JOHN CONYERS???
Just stop and think, you can find it EVERYWHERE!

28. Sorry, I Wasn't Sure Exactly What term to Use |
|
I used another term at my other post, people of other nationalities and was corrected to used Blacks!
Guess I can't win. Hey I'm no racist in any way shape or form. I personally think all of humanity should be treated equally.
And the song sounds like it would have come from that culture. Sorry, it wasn't a "biggee" on my song list so I didn't know who sang it.
Mark me with a BIG "F"!

17. Well, FYI, this song is by a band named Wild Cherry and |
|
Wild Cherry was composed entirely of white guys. We got some funk in us, too. Oh yeah!
People used to show up for their concerts and get kind of pissed off that they had been grooving to a white band.

21. Custom ring tones suck |
|
pet peeve- eating dinner in a restaurant when someones phone rings and plays some stupid ass song. It seem to be a smaller version of the hummer "look at me" syndrome. I prefer the vibrate setting on my phone, or a plain old ring if necessary.

23. I would prefer if everyone turned their phones off or put on vibrate... |
|
...when dining out in a restaurant. I like my musical ring tones (I have the STP one I mentioned, a few Led Zeppelin and Fat Bottom Girls by QUeen) because I've not heard anyone else use them so when I hear the song I know it's my phone ringing. But I usually keep my cell phone ring on low volume and turn it on vibrate if I'm dining out or other places where cell phone rings aren't acceptable

I have been known to use Ride of the Valkyries until I thought it was the store muzak instead of my phone one time.
Now I stick to "ring ring"
